She used to be mine.

Bear with me, there are several pieces to this story and I feel really exposed in sharing them. I hope you will take the time to watch it all. πŸ™πŸΌ
β€”
You see, a few weeks ago I was asked to give remarks at a fundraiser to benefit @ncadv. I spent many years in front of a classroom and most of the last two years giving talks to audiences. This is a comfortable space for me and I was confident I could do a good job.
β€”
But something inside me knew that, despite how others may choose to label me, it is my calling to use all of my God-given talents to serve the world. And yes, I am a speaker and an advocate against domestic violence. But I am also so much more.
β€”
So, at an off-broadway theater on a Sunday afternoon, surrounded by career broadway veterans and Grammy award winning singers, I stepped onstage. And fighting back tears, I shared my voice. #thepullofgrace
